To get the length, measure front to back; put one tip just over the brow line in front and the other tip at the furthest point on the back of your head.

Measuring Length and Width

1)  If you have a significant amount of hair, put on the wig cap so that you are measuring over the cap and hair and therefore accounting for the thickness of your hair inside the helmet.

2)  Use the caliper and adjust it to measure your head both front to back (length) and side to side (width).  This works best with a friend working the caliper.  For the length measurement, put one tip just over the brow line in front and the other tip at the furthest point on the back of your head.

For the width, you'll be measuring about an inch above each ear.  Use the caliper to find the widest distance in that area.

For the width, you'll be measuring about an inch above each ear. Use the caliper to find the widest distance in that area.

3)  As you take each measurement, use the tape to determine the distance between the tips of the caliper.  Record each one to the nearest 1/8", rounding up if necessary.

Tips:  To get each reading, lay the caliper on a table and then use the cloth tape to measure from tip to tip.    It is easier to do this than to try to hold the tape flat on the table and hold the tips over it.   We accept your results in increments of 1/8", so record the two measurements to the closest 1/8" (round up if necessary).

Measure just above your brow line in front and around the back at the biggest part of your head.

Measure Your Head Circumference

Check the circumference of your head.  You'll be following about the same line around your head as you did with the length and width measurements...  just above your brow line in front and around the back at the biggest part of your head.  Get a reading to the nearest 1/8" inch (round up if necessary).

The report will only be as accurate as the measurements we receive. The old adage “Measure Twice” is a good rule to follow.
